As many of you may know, last Friday, Saturday and Sunday the Italian Consulate in Bothell was open for the renewal of passports. For the new Italian passport, people must give their fingerprints, which are then saved in the passport electronic chip. This process would normally requires nationals to travel to San Francisco and present themselves at the Consulate in person.
Thanks to Giorgia Efficace, an officer of the Italian Consulate General in San Francisco, who traveled to Seattle for the appointment, more than 70 citizens were spared the time and costs of a long journey to California and enjoyed a “next door” service.
A special thanks goes also to our honorary consul Franco Tesorieri for assisting Giorgia in the work and to the other volunteers that helped with the organizations.
