Italian Conversation Groups

What are the Italian Conversation Groups?

The Italian Conversation Groups are informal gatherings giving participants the chance to practice the Italian language conversationally and to expand their knowledge of Italian culture.

Meetings focus on aspects of the Italian culture that might be of general international interest such as art, painting, history, tourism, and gastronomy (to name a few). They are led by a moderator, who will coordinate the discussion and stimulate it with tips, teaching material (photographs, articles, etc.). No participant preparation is required, although sometimes, the moderator may provide material in advance, which we suggest attendees read prior to attending in order to more fully participate in the conversation.

During the meetings participants are encouraged to share personal experiences, stories, etc. with their conversation group.

The groups are structured according to the level of spoken Italian: beginner and intermediate/advanced.

Maximum participants: 8 people per group

When and where?

The meetings are held at two locations on selected Saturdays: in Bellevue at Tutta Bella Neapolitan Pizzeria at its Crossroads location and in Seattle at the Il Punto library located at 14300 Greenwood Ave., N, Seattle WA 98133. Sessions last approximately 90 minutes.

Who can participate?

Participation is open to anyone interested in practicing Italian conversation in an informal environment.

The cost is $20 per session, paid in advance. Il Punto members received a 50% discount so if you are ready to join click here. The proceeds benefit The Italian Center- Il Punto, a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit corporation as all moderators are volunteers.
