Italian Conversation Groups

What are the Italian Conversation Groups?

The Italian Conversation Groups (ICG) are Italian language meetings organized periodically by our Committee of Linguistics. Through the ICG, participants are given the possibility to practice the language and expand their knowledge about the Italian culture.

Meetings focus on aspects of the Italian culture that might be of general international interest such as art, painting, history, tourism, and gastronomy (to name a few). They are led by a moderator, who will coordinate the discussion and stimulate it with tips, teaching material (photographs, articles, etc.). No preparation is required. Sometimes, the moderator may provide the material in advance, which we suggest participants to read prior to attending in order to take full advantage of the conversation class.

During the meetings participants are encouraged to share personal experiences, stories, etc. with their conversation group.

The Groups are structured according to the level of spoken Italian: beginner/intermediate and intermediate/advanced.

Maximum participants: 8 people per group

When and where?

The meetings are held on selected Saturdays in Bellevue at Tuttabella Crossroads and  in Seattle at Il Punto! Italian Cultural center on Greenwood Ave. Sessions last approximately one and a half hour.

Who can participate?

Participation is open to anyone (members and non members) interested in practicing Italian in a informal environment.

We ask our members to pay a nominal fee of $5 and Non-members $20 per session. All our moderators are volunteers but collecting these fees help us paying the rent.
