Excursion and Potluck with PNW Club Alpino Italiano (RSVP by June 5)

3rd Annual Excursion and Potluck Event

Join us for the annual hike at Deception Pass. After the excursion we will group at the shelter and have lunch together.

You can participate to both hike and potluck, or to just one of these events.

Excursion (organized by CAI PNW): Starts 10AM

CAI-PNW Excursion

• Meet: Meet by 9.45 on June 8 at the Bowman Bay Parking lot. Hike starts at 10am.
• Hike length: 4 miles - The forested route heads around Bowman Bay up the hill around Pass Lake Loop.
• Location: Deception Pass State Park (South of Anacortes before the Deception Pass Bridge)
• Parking: Parking at the Bowman Bay lot (Discover Pass required) between The Civilian Conservation Corps Interpretive Center and the dock.

3nd Annual Cooks' Potluck

• Meet: meet by 12.30 at the shelter reserved at the Deception Pass State park.  
• Location: Deception Pass State Park (South of Anacortes before the Deception Pass Bridge)
• Parking: Parking at the Bowman Bay lot (Discover Pass required) between The Civilian Conservation Corps Interpretive Center and the dock.

All participants bring a nice dish. Each participant will introduce their dish at the start of the potluck. The potluck takes place in a picnic shelter that has a fireplace for heat should the weather be cool. One can participate in the potluck without hiking beforehand.

The potluck rules: Only home-cooked dishes or dishes purchased at a specialty store (bakery, pastry shop, charcuterie shop, butcher, cheese shop). No food purchased from a grocery store, consumer packaged goods, pre-fabricated foods (No Whole Foods, PCC, Trader Joe's, etc.).

The 1st and 2nd Annual Cooks' Potluck were successes, and participants brought thoughtful well-prepared dishes.
