New "Dante Show" - Poetry and Music

    If you in the past missed such event you can join  now for a new enchanting opportunity where the timeless verses of Dante Alighieri come to life through the power of music, creating an unforgettable fusion of art and emotion. The project originally conceived by Marco Zuccari several years ago in Italy, and presented in Seattle for the first time on 2023 as "Dante Show" --formerly known as "Dante, Parole.... Note"-- is an inclusive event organized now at Casa Italiana. 

    The event will be in Italian, ensuring an authentic experience, with English translations provided in a complimentary booklet.

                              The event is free and open to all.

    Program:

    • Paolo e Francesca: Accompanied by Giacomo Puccini's "Madama Butterfly."
    • Ulisse: Enhanced by Giuseppe Verdi's "Aida: Marcia Trionfale."
    • Conte Ugolino: Enveloped in the emotive strains of Giuseppe Verdi's "Messa da Requiem."
    • Sordello: Complemented by Franco Battiato's "Povera Patria."
    • Prayer of St. Bernard to the Virgin Mary: Elevated by the iconic "Hallelujah" by Leonard Cohen.

Each musical piece will be prefaced by insightful notes on the historical context and a poetic paraphrase of Dante's verses, enhancing the understanding and appreciation of the poetic lines.
