The Dante Alighieri Society of Washington is a non-profit organization headquartered in Seattle and recognized as an official chapter (Comitato) of the Società Dante Alighieri within the danteglobal network. Its mission, in harmony with the principles of the Società Dante Alighieri headquarters in Rome, is to promote Italian language and culture.

Dante Seattle offers top-quality online Italian classes, the Italian certification exam PLIDA, sponsorship of events, cultural programs and warm hospitality to anyone.

PLIDA

PLIDA exams certify proficiency in Italian as a foreign language and test the ability to use the language at different proficiency levels, from level A1 to level C2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Level B1 is required to obtain Italian citizenship. PLIDA exams are held in more than 300 Exam Centers in more than 60 countries. The Dante Alighieri Society of Washington in Seattle is one of the few exam centers in North America.
